Source: NASEO

On September 20, 2022, the Wyoming Energy Authority was awarded $595,000 to establish a Wyoming Energy Regional Economic Coordination Office with funds from the American Rescue Plan and the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) Coal Communities Commitment. The state will provide a 17 percent match. The Wyoming Energy Regional Economic Coordination Office will support Wyoming in exploring opportunities to support the energy transition with particular attention to the economic development potential of local coal communities. The Office will conduct research and develop road maps and strategies for new energy initiatives as the state is looking at an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy. This strategy will include new technologies such as hydrogen, advanced nuclear, geothermal, and rare earth elements and support a well-rounded energy workforce.

More information can be found in the press release from EDA.
